Magdalena Rantica (Buenos Aires, 1973)
She studied plastic arts at the P.Pueyrredón National School of Fine Arts in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Graduated from the Art Institute of the Colón Theater as theatrical Characterizer. She completed the professional training of Eutonía. Attended Sergio Bazan's visual arts workshop. She has made individual exhibitions, among which are: Mexico "Aurora Boreal" in the Museum of Oaxacan Painters (MUPO) and at the Manuel García Contemporary Art Gallery, Oaxaca, Mexico. (Dec 2015 / March 2016). In Buenos Aires, argentina : Bruma " Gallery Alejandro Bustillo Banco Nación 2015; "Spring in May" (2010) and "Anatomy of the weavers" (2001) Recoleta Cultural Center; “Birds bark in my dreams” (2009) and “Eternity plus a Wednesday” (2007) ZavaletaLab Gallery; "Work on paper" French Alliance 2005; "Pinturas" Bacano Gallery 2004. She held group exhibitions in the following institutions: in Oaxaca in the Santo Domingo de Guzmán Cultural Center and the Manuel García Contemporary Art Gallery; in Mexico City at Uno61; in Buenos Aires at the Itaú Contemporáneo Space, Recoleta Cultural Center, Palais de Glace National Palace of Arts, Eduardo Museum Sivori , Borges Cultural Center, Zavaleta Lab Gallery, Standard Bank Gallery, Chez Vautier Gallery, Luminous Garden Gallery, Today in Art Gallery; in Panama at Allegro Gallery. She has received several distinctions among which are: Mention in the National Hall of Painting Banco Nación , 2015; First and Third Prize in the UADE Painting Contest, 2011 and 2008 respectively. Mention in Painting at the National Salon of Visual Arts edition 100, 2011. Acquisition Mention in the IV National Painting Prize Banco Central, 2010. Metropolitan Fund for Science, Culture and the Arts Grant, 2010. Mention in Textile Art, National Salon of Visual Arts, Palais de Glace, 2006. SRE Grant, Stay for Artistic Creation in Mexico, 2005. During the years 1996 and 1997 she lived in Oaxaca, Mexico, the city to which she returned on various occasions and where she resides nowadays.
