Arantxa Solís (Colombia, 1990)
Of Mexican nationality, She studied at the faculty of architecture of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), complementing her academic training at l’École Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture de Paris La Villette. Her profession is focused on the plastic arts, especially painting and drawing, since 2016 she founded in conjunction with Euri Lorenzo, FERVOR, a workshop dedicated to making decorative pieces with gold leaf. Her pictorial work has focused throughout these years on a figurative look, although always towards and around the imaginary, characters, landscapes, objects that seem to be outside a common situation. The exploration of colors and the abstraction of forms have been a relevant aspect of her work, which has had other aspects in projects of a more abstract nature. This search and journey have led to an exploration of light and atmospheres that can be detonated in a landscape, a particular environment or simply in the observation of the behavior of natural or artificial light in space. She currently lives in Mexico City.
