Alejandro Cartagena (Dominican Republic, 1977)
Alejandro Cartagena was born in 1977 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic and currently resides in Monterrey, Mexico. He is a world renowned photographer whose work has been exhibited internationally in the most important art spaces, such as the CCCB in Barcelona. Caratagena’s work is also in the permanent collections of major museums in the United States, including the San Francisco MOMA, The museum of Contemporary Photography in Chicago, The George Eastman House, The West Collection and The Portland museum of Art, just to name a few. As an international Artist his work has also been published in magazines as important as The New Yorker, The New York Times, Newsweek and Le Monde. Among his many achievements Cartagena holds several international awards including The Street Photography Award in The London Photo Festival, The Lente Latino Award in Chile, The Photolucida Critical Mass Book Award among many others.
